Pill coating?? There are many different types of engineers, and this activity introduced the world of chemical engineering! Using a simulation of skittles as pills and sprite as stomach acid, students were tasked with using different combinations of corn starch, corn syrup, flour, and sugar to make the skittles pills dissolve as fast as possible in the sprite stomach acid.
